Barrowman on Miracle Day (Video)

Lest we forget, people, that 2011 doesn’t just mean a new series of Doctor Who - sandwiched between the two run of time travelling fun comes Torchwood: Miracle Day, a new series of the popular spin-off show starring John Barrowman and Eve Myles.

If you’ve been out of the loop so far, the new series – set for broadcast during the summer – also stars Mekhi Pfiffer (8 Mile) and Bill Pullman, and sees Torchwood resurrected in order to unravel the mystery of why people have stopped dying.

It’s an exciting concept, which explains why John Barrowman is so enthused about it:

…although on second thoughts, he’s always like that!

Torchwood series 4 is a co-production between Starz, BBC America and BBC Wales, and is set for broadcast on Starz on July 8th 2011 on Starz, with a UK date yet to be confirmed.

If you think about it, this is the first year the Doctor Who franchise will have been completely at full steam since 2008, which was the last time we had a full-length DW season, a full-length Torchwood season (10 episodes is still shorter than 13, but it’s close enough), and a Sarah Jane season. And some areas are seeing Season 1 of K-9 for the first time this year, to boot.
