Who’s Funny for Money?

March 18th looks set to be a good night for fans of comedy and of Doctor Who alike!

As part of Comic relief this year, the night-known as Funny for Money, will include Miranda Hart (from comedy Miranda) take part in a “cook off” alongside Ruby Wax and Claudia Winkleman. Steve Coogan (of Alan Partridge fame) and Armstrong and Miller (The Armstrong and Miller show) will be doing some comedy routines to tickle the funny bones as well.

Hosts for the evening will include Lenny Henry (who did a Doctor Who parody sketch in the 1980’s), Michael McIntyre, Graham Norton (who, technically, appeared in Rose on its initial broadcast in the UK!) and James Corden who’s currently filming alongside Matt Smith and Karen Gillan for Doctor Who’s sixth series.

David Walliams, James Corden and Donna Noble actress Catherine Tate will also be joined by Alan Carr and John Bishop to form a special tribute band called Fake That, and don’t miss highlights of Walliams 24 hour TV quiz marathon which also features David Tennant.

Doctor Who fans should keep their eyes peeled as the night will also air two very special mini episodes in which the Doctor and Rory encounter two Amy Ponds!

It looks set to be a very funny night full of comedy and adventure. You can find out more about the events by visiting www.comicrelief.com/get-involved/red-nose-day-2011.

Comic Relief – Funny for Money will air on Friday March 18th from 7pm on BBC One
