The giant-like Ernie Hudson – best known as Winston Zeddemore in Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II (but not the animated series The Real Ghostbusters, where he failed the audition…) has been cast in Torchwood: Miracle Day.

This follows on from the impressive casting to date that has Russell T Davies’ international vision for the show finding roles for such names as Mekhi Phifer (as lead character Rex Matheson), Jurassic Park star Wayne Knight, Lauren Ambrose and William Thomas, not to mention former Hollyoaks hottie Lena Kaur.

At the moment we don’t know if Hudson – who has also done voice work on a massive selection of popular animated series and features (including a couple of Transformers series) – be appearing in any capacity with any form of ghost.

Or indeed if there is any form of ghost in Torchwood: Miracle Day – after all, it’s not really that sort of show anymore, is it?

Also appearing in the series is Christopher Thomas Howell, whose credits include ET: The Extra Terrestrial and the currently filming The Amazing Spider-Man.
