The Doctor is Cooler than Bond!

…or so says Matt Smith, the man who really should know! Doctor Who star Smith has been interviewed by the Telegraph, mainly concerning his upcoming role in Christopher and His Kind on BBC Two on Saturday evening, but naturally the interview features plenty of interesting reference our favourite time travelling adventure series.

While declaring that he now understands why girls like a clean-shaven gentleman – before shying away from any questions about his personal life and declaring that he will never go to a red carpet premiere, Matt also decided that while he isn’t exactly handsome enough to play James Bond, he doesn’t really mind…

‘The Doctor’s cooler, though,’ he adds. ‘He can time travel, he’s cleverer… Bond’s all right, but he’s not the Doc.’

Naturally, as the Eleventh man to have the job of playing the Doctor, Matt was asked the age-old question “when are you leaving?”

‘Well, I’m going back this year. I guess get another one out the way, see what everyone thinks of that. I love doing it, I don’t want to give it up anytime soon, put it that way.’

Poor Doctor Who actors. They spend their lives poring their souls into making the show work and when ever the press turn up the poor devils are subjected to questions like “are you done yet?” or “can we move onto the next guy please?”!
