Doctor Who for $10 on International iPlayer

Internationalistas, peer into your wallets. You see that spare $10 you had in your pocket for investing in silver or buying some rice to feed your family tonight?

Well forget it.

Stop spending it on stuff you need or things that will come good in the end because BBC Director General Mark Thompson has confirmed that the international iPlayer app will cost under $10 per month – leaving you some money left over to live, iSuppose.

Speaking at the Financial Times Digital Media and Broadcasting Conference 2011 (I know, I’m still hungover from all the parties) Thompson confirmed that the iPlayer app will launch later this year giving international users the chance to watch Doctor Who without all the nasty re-branding and reformatting.

Thompson also took a moment to praise the domestic success which through geometric transfer means you! Give yourself a pat on the back for making Steven Moffat’s The Eleventh Hour the most downloaded iPlayer programme ever!

Everyone has a favourite Doctor and mine - just for his honesty, his fairness and his ability to not notice the Master's awful, awful disguises/anagrams (Sir Gilles Estram!?!) - has to be the Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison. The stories didn’t serve him as well as his acting served those stories.
