Doctor Who, April 23rd, BBC One?

According to the latest edition of Doctor Who Magazine, the sixth series of Doctor Who since the show’s resurrection in 2005 is extremely likely to begin on Saturday, April 23rd – the same day as the show airs on BBC America!

Sandwiched between Good Friday and Easter Sunday, we commonly know the day as “Easter Saturday” in the UK – but this year Easter Saturday could become “Good Doctor Day” as fans on both sides of the Atlantic celebrate the show’s return!

The series will open with a two-part adventure by Steven Moffat that guest stars Mark Sheppard, Stuart Milligan (who previously appeared in the 2009 animated adventure Dreamland) and Alex Kingston and sees the Doctor, Amy and Rory in a quest across the USA.

While the date is now “out there” it is subject to change – something that Doctor Who Magazine were at pains to reveal on Twitter this morning to Digital Spy who went off with a “BBC confirmation” news item…
