The Doctor’s Double

There are rumours that the new series of Doctor Who will see the Eleventh Doctor face off against a robotic replica of himself. Whilst we wait to see if that will happen, you can enjoy the fact that Matt Smith went through something very similar recently in real life!

The Doctor Who experience has just launched at the Kensington Olympia and it features a replica recreation of the Time Lord’s most recent face. As Matt attended the launch of this event, he faced off against his double whilst overcoming past foes such as the Daleks who were also in attendance.

Matt had a recreation of him made to stand alongside the TARDIS to oversee the event and even straightened the recreations bow ties when he met him! The process itself was fairly gruelling to go through as Matt explained:

“It was quite a harrowing experience. My face was completely covered and I had just like a couple of straws for my nostrils. It was pretty grim.”

The interactive experience, one of the first 0f its kind, features not only a comprehensive history of the shows fifty years but also an adventure where you play the Doctor’s companion. Featuring, Daleks, Cybermen, Judoon and Weeping Angels the show is not one to be missed and is currently fully booked for the next two weeks. But it’s entirely worth getting a ticket for as it boasts three separate TARDIS consoles to stand next to including the Fifth, Tenth and Eleventh Doctor’s versions.

The Doctor Who experience is now on and you can book tickets by visiting www.doctorwhoexperience.com.

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
