Gillan’s Glamour Nod

Glamour magazine, that purveyor of style, sex and sexy stylish hair are honouring the Women of the Year and a certain Karen Gillan needs the assistance of you, the great unwashed.

The delightful Miss Gillan has been nominated in the UK TV Actress category up against the likes of Keeley Hawes (Upstairs, Downstairs), Claire Foy (The Promise)- as well as a gaggle of modern Who gals including Lenora Crichlow (Season 3′s Gridlock), Sarah Parish (The Runaway Bride) and Rose Tyler herself Billie Piper (Secret Diary of a Call Girl).

Not satisfied with just the one nod Gillan is also up for the Pandora Breakthrough award up against Women from all facets of entertainment such as Actress’ Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone), Rooney Mara (The Social Network), Singers Rumer (Seasons of My Soul) and Ellie Goulding (Lights) as well as comedian Morgana Robinson (The Morgana Show).

The Awards, sponsored by Pandora (the jewelry, not the Ferngully like planet from Avatar) will take place on June 7th.

To vote for Miss Gillan and to honour other talented women head over to the Glamour site.

Everyone has a favourite Doctor and mine - just for his honesty, his fairness and his ability to not notice the Master's awful, awful disguises/anagrams (Sir Gilles Estram!?!) - has to be the Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison. The stories didn’t serve him as well as his acting served those stories.

And how about voting for Catherine Tate as Comedy Actress too? She isn’t among the options, but there IS a “enter another” box for us to type her name, right?
