Eve Talks Miracles

As we all know, Torchwood is coming back to our screens very soon after a long, long absence. Over the first three series, many of the regulars were killed off while fighting alien nasties and left over after the dust settled were two surviving members of the Torchwood hub, Captain Jack Harkness and his loyal friend Gwen Cooper.

As Torchwood restarts this year, it’s gone through some major changes structurally and the fourth series, or Miracle Day as its known, will feature a wealth of well known actors to bring it back into not only the UK’s television limelight but also America’s.

Eve Myles, the actress who plays Gwen has had a short video posted recently (which you can see below) where she talks about why Gwen is such an integral part of Torchwood, why she keeps coming back to fight for planet Earth and also the changes that the character has gone through since we last saw her in Children of Earth. Myles also talks of Russell T Davies’ skill of writing for the show and what draws her to keep coming back to the role. It’s a short video and starts to give a flavour for the return of Torchwood.

Miracle Day will, like its predecessor Children of Earth, follow a linked story throughout its newest series rather than the old “monster of the week” format that ran through its first two series. It looks set to be the most epic adventure for the Torchwood team yet and is surely going to blow televisions viewer’s socks off all over the world.

No official transmission date has been set for Torchwood: Miracle Day as yet but rumour is looking at a summer release.

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
