Casting News x3

Three brief casting updates today: Frances Barber (pictured), Christina Chong, and Geoffrey Burton will all be appearing in episodes of Doctor Who Season 32!

Frances Barber’s television appearances include Midsomer Murders, The Fattest Man in Britain, and A Passionate Woman (alongside Billie Piper).  She’ll be playing someone called Kovarian.  Christina Chong has a number of small television roles and commercials on her resume, and she’ll also show up in the movie Johnny English Reborn when it comes out later this year.  Her character in Doctor Who will have the slightly amusing name of Lorna Bucket.  Both actresses will appear in Steven Moffat’s Peter-Hoar-directed episode 777, which may or may not be called Demons Run.

It’s unclear for now which episode Geoffrey Burton, known for Outlaws and The Bill, will appear in, but he will portray a “Nasa Man,” which implies that he may have something to do with the spacesuit-wearing fellow seen in the Series 6 trailer.

Doctor Who, as it does every year, will premiere in the spring on BBC One.
