Oli’s Pixels

Website theolismith.com has shown some example of what can be achieved on an iPhone with a bit of artistic flare and a useful app!

Pixel Artist is available to download via the Apple app store and is perfect for creating cutesy little pictures. If you have a talent like Oli’s then you can create the samples that he’s posted on his website, including a self portrait and some tiny versions of the Fourth and Seventh Doctors.

Smith’s work isn’t the first time he’s turned his attention to the world of Doctor Who however, he’s not only written several fiction books (Nuclear Time – an Eleventh Doctor story), short stories and comic strips-he’s also the writer of some of the Doctor Who games that are available including the Nintendo Wii game Return to Earth, the Nintendo DS game Evacuation Earth and the most recent game for the iPhone and iPad, The Mazes of Time.

But Oli’s drawings are only the start, for those of you with access to the Apple app store, why don’t you try a hand at drawing some Doctor Who pictures and showing us the best results that you can muster up?

No prizes for the winner except a feeling of overwhelming brilliance that your creation was better than anyone else’s…

(Thanks to Matt)

About the Author

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
