Lauren Ambrose’s Miracle Day

More casting news has been released for the greatly anticipated new series of Torchwood with the announcement of yet another big name.

Six Feet Under star Lauren Ambrose has been added to the cast list playing a recurring character and will appear in seven out of the ten episodes.

Her character will be called Jilly Kitzinger, a PR guru who employs “the most important client of her career”, according to Digital Spy.

Previously in her career, the actress played Claire Fisher in Six Feet Under from 2001 until 2005 and then went on to appear in a sitcom called The Return of Jezebel James. Her film work includes Cold Souls (2009) and some voice work for the animated feature Where The Wild Things Are.

Lauren joins an already impressive cast list for the new Torchwood series, where not only will she be joined by series regulars John Barrowman and Eve Myles but also massive Hollywood names such as Mekhi Phifer and Bill Pullman.

The new series of Torchwood, entitled Miracle Day has commenced filming and will air sometime this year on the BBC in the UK and on the Starz channel in the USA.

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
