Former Doctor Who executive and creator of Torchwood Russell T Davies has been the subject of much media frenzy in Wales over the past few weeks after returning suntanned from the beaches of California buzzing with ideas from his office in California.
(Online home for many Welsh newspaper articles) www.thisissouthwales.co.uk seem to have been on the writer’s trail since he returned, and recently asked him what he thought of the news that Manic Street Preachers bassist was developing a Doctor Who script.
He said: “I had not heard about Nicky Wire writing an episode of Doctor Who until recently, but it’s such a good idea.
“Nicky’s a great guy and I’d love to see an episode of the timelord where he would meet up with Dylan Thomas.
“Obviously, the Doctor would have to make sure he did not get involved in any drinking competitions with Dylan Thomas, but the idea would make great TV.”
As far as we’re aware, there is nothing official in Wire’s script – he’s only doing it for fun. Until he gets that phonecall, of course…

Err… are we sure about this guys? That doesn’t sound like RTD at all. Remember that RTD was also ‘quoted’ in those Johnny Depp/Who Movie articles last year.
@Bow Ties Are Cool – very interesting point. Reading it back it is a little odd isn’t it? Perhaps dropping a line to ben.wright@swwmedia.co.uk who is listed at the foot of the article would reveal more…?
