Dalek Time Travelodge
It happens all the time when you go away, you’re staying in a hotel or a bed and breakfast and when you leave and you’re halfway home, you realise that you’ve left something there. It’s not always something big, maybe a toothbrush or a t-shirt but it annoys you anyway.
But some people tend to leave other things of value behind, items that you wonder “how on earth did you forget those?†Recently, an article was published where a spokesperson from Travelodge stated that the oddest thing to be found left behind in one of their hotels was a set of Gold Dentures valued at £6500!
Among other valuable items were the keys to a Rolls Royce Phantom, a Hermes handbag worth £8000, a suitcase full of royal memorabilia dating back to Victorian times, a little Bengal kitten called Tiger (!), some 75,000 cuddly toys and (in what is surely the most bizarre thing you could forget) a life-size Dalek!
The Spokesperson for Travelodge, Jon Hendry Pickup, commented:
“Our customers’ left behinds demonstrate what a broad cross-section of people stay in our hotels…The 2010 left-behind inventory report also demonstrated that we are truly living in a digital world.”
How on earth you could be heading out the door of your hotel and think: “have I got everything? Keys, wallet, watch… is there something I’m forgetting? Did I pack the Dalek? I’m sure I did…â€
