Are you a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Dollhouse but not a fan of Torchwood?
If the above description fits you, prepare to love the Doctor Who spinoff for grown-ups, because Kelly Manners, who in his past life produced the first three shows mentioned, has now joined the Torchwood: The New World production team!
He starts his job next month, right around the time filming begins on January 11th.
In addition to Manners, you should also expect to see the work of Bharat Nalluri (director, Life on Mars and Outcasts) and production designer Gregory Melton (The Walking Dead) on your screen when Torchwood makes its triumphant return. Also from the Dollhouse crew is costume designer Shawn Trpcic; as long as he keeps (Group) Captain Jack Harkness’ overcoat in the picture, we’re sure he’ll be brilliant.
Torchwood: The New World is a joint production between the BBC, BBC Worldwide, and American premium network Starz. The executive producers are, as always, Russell T. Davies and Julie Gardner. Look for a broadcast on your British- or American-based television this summer (possibly July).
