More Who from Whithouse

Great news for all those who were fans of episodes School Reunion and The Vampires of Venice, Toby Whithouse is to write another episode of Doctor Who!

Executive Producer Piers Wenger confirmed this whilst being interviewed with Crave Online. Whithouse wrote his first episode of Doctor Who for David Tennant’s debut season as the Doctor and reintroduced Sarah Jane Smith and K9 into the Whoniverse as well as giving us the vicious Krillatane. He most recently wrote for the Eleventh Doctor in Series 5 of Doctor Who, offering thrills and spills a-plenty in Venice in the 1580’s. Toby also wrote a story for Series 1 of Torchwood, Greeks Bearing Gifts.

And now he’s returning to the fold for a brand new story, details of which are unknown. What is known is that the writers for the first half of Series 6 have already been confirmed so his story will most likely appear in the second half of the season.

The Doctor Who world notwithstanding, Toby is best known for creating popular BBC fantasy series Being Human, which stars Russell Tovey and Lenora Crichlow-both of whom have appeared in the revamped Doctor Who in 2007 and 2010.

Toby’s episode will no doubt be filled with his usual flair of comedy and action and can’t come soon enough! As details emerge, we’ll keep you in the loop.

About

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
