Amazing Figures!

Sharp increase! Soaring profits! Back in the black! Bouncing Back! All the financial cliches are out in force as  Character, the Doctor Who toy-makers extraordinaire, have deservedly seen profits increase- recording a £7.6million pretax profit in the 12 months to the end of August – compared to a loss of £2.2million the year before.

The company, which makes toys under licence from TV companies, have had strong sales leading up to the crucial Christmas period and are hoping Who related figures will be a best seller from now until Santa pops down your chimney/breaks into your house.

The collapse of Woolworth’s during Christmas 2008 hit Character hard but with supermarkets stepping into the breach the company’s dividend has increased fourfold to 4p per share.

Character remain ‘confident’ they can continue their run of good luck despite increased transport and production overheads eating into their profit margin.

Fans of Character’s range of toys shouldn’t miss our selection of top toys this Christmas in Terra’s Christmas Toybox.

Everyone has a favourite Doctor and mine - just for his honesty, his fairness and his ability to not notice the Master's awful, awful disguises/anagrams (Sir Gilles Estram!?!) - has to be the Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison. The stories didn’t serve him as well as his acting served those stories.
