Late Late Who

Reminder for American fans; Matt Smith is set to appear on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on CBS within the next week!

The Scottish late-night talk show host Ferguson recently announced this fact on his Twitter page:

“Tuesday (16) I am having a Dr Who special with @nerdist [Chris Hardwick] and Matt Smith. @jimmyfallon has Springsteen. #cbsisterrifiedofmycontemptforratings.”

Smith will be filming scenes for the Doctor Who Series 6/Season 32 premiere in an undisclosed location in the US from the 17th to the 19th, which is likely why he’s able to do an interview in the US on the 16th.

Ferguson later tweeted that Smith wouldn’t be the only Who actor present…

“Confirmed Dalek for Dr Who special on Tues 16. For those who don’t know Daleks are bitter grumpy aliens. Remind you of anyone?”

Hmmm… could this mean that there will be Daleks involved in the series premiere as well?

But wait, there’s even more!  Chris Hardwick has hurriedly created a comp calling for Whovians to submit T-shirt designs, so that he can pick one and wear it to the Late Late Show recording!  Says Hardwick,

“I’ve seen so many great designs out there, but I wanted to see as many as possible to make sure that I have the Who-iest garment on the planet.”

If you want to enter that, you’d better hurry; the contest ends Saturday at 11:59 PM ET!

Hardwick was invited to the Matt Smith interview because of his previous appearance with Ferguson last June, in which Doctor Who was a key subject of the conversation:

The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson‘s Doctor Who special likely airs on Wednesday, November 17th at 12:30 AM ET/Tuesday, November 16th at 11:30 PM CT, though with the out-of-whack American TV scheduling system, you should probably check your local CBS station’s listings just to be sure.
