Don’t Forget the Signing!

Some readers may remember from an article written in September this year by Kasterborous’ fearless leader Christian Cawley that there was to be a special appearance by Eleventh Doctor Matt Smith and his trusty friend Amy Pond, as played by Karen Gillan, at the HMV in Oxford Street on November 8th 2010 to coincide with the release of Series 5 of Doctor Who on Blu-ray and DVD.

We thought that it was such an important event; we’d remind anyone who’d forgotten and inform those who hadn’t yet heard the news!

Matt and Karen will be at London’s flagship HMV store to sign both the DVD and Blu-ray releases of the newest series of your favourite show. The box sets are available in a lenticular packaging or a limited edition, numbered box set.

They two stars of the show will appear from 1pm until 3pm but for you to be one of the lucky ones to meet them in the flesh, you’ll have to arrive at the store at 9am to pick up a wristband to grant you entry.  The number of these is limited to 300 and rules apply to state: one wristband per customer maximum, in person only, while stocks last, subject to availability, at participating store only.

We needn’t tell you what a great occasion this will be for any Doctor Who fan and also what a massively brilliant Christmas present this would make for a much loved relative, a dear friend or even one of your favourite Kasterborous contributors (not that we would ever ask you for or be able to take such a gift, it’s just nice to be liked….) so make sure you get yourself to HMV London, 150 Oxford Street W1 on Monday 8th November at 9am to get a precious wristband!

If you can’t get to the store on the day, remember – you can purchase the Doctor Who Series 5 Special Edition DVD from Amazon for just £51.47 and the Special Edition Blu-ray Tin for just £58.47 and re-watch excellent episodes including The Eleventh Hour, Amy’s Choice, The Lodger and The Big Bang.

To everyone who gets in, have a great day!

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
