Doctor Who on Christmas Day!

The Doctor Who News Page relates that the BBC have confirmed that A Christmas Carol will be broadcast at 6pm on Christmas Day!

A simoultaneous broadcast on BBC One and BBC HD will herald the broadcast, the schedule of which was apparently “signed off” this afternoon. BBC One/BBC HD joins BBC America in broadcasting the episode on Christmas Day.

So people, this is is – time to gird your loins and get ready for the big countdown to Doctor Who at Christmas!

We’ve been looking forward to this for months – Matt Smith and Sir Michael Gambon in a Steven Moffat script is a heady proposition as it is, but chucking in Katherine Jenkins was a masterstroke by the Doctor Who production team.

Following in the foot steps of The Christmas Invasion, The Runaway Bride, Voyage of the Damned, The Next Doctor and The End of Time, Part One, this new episode which naturally co-stars Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill looks as though it could be the best yet.

But what do you think?
