VAT. The rise is inevitable each year. Prices increase and we wind up paying more for our most treasured possessions. This in the case of Doctor Who is never a bad thing. However, the good people at Big Finish have been looking into the rise in prices and are trying not to increase anything. Executive producer Jason Haigh-Ellery commented:

“We are aware that VAT will be increasing by 2.5% on 1st January 2011. We are reviewing the situation with regards to CD and download pricing; however, Big Finish has not increased its prices since 2004 and some increases in the future may be inevitable

Big Finish can now announce that they have no immediate plans to increase prices, despite the fall in revenue such a rise in VAT would incur. Their hope is that by making advance subscriptions and discounted pre-orders available immediately, the revenue stream will offset the need for any price rise.
