Anton du Beke? Vernon Kay? Nah. Why give them a thought when you could have John Barrowman?
All three have been mentioned as possible replacements of Bruce Forsyth as host of Strictly Come Dancing, but Barrowman, or in Whovian-ese, (Group) Captain Jack Harkness, seems to be the current favourite in the producers’ eyes, and as far as we’re aware, only he seems to have the rather gargantuan goal of appearing on every show ever to be produced for the telly between now and his death day.
The 82-year-old Forsyth, who has already been cut to part-time host this season because of his age, is expected to step down within the next couple of years, and according to Digital Spy the Daily Express has reported that the Strictly Come Execs would like to Strictly Come Hiring Barrowman as the next face of the programme.
Barrowman has already signed on to compete in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special. So he’ll technically be able to check that off his list of shows he’s been in anyway.
While John can do what he wants, most of us Whovians would rather just wait until next summer and watch him Strictly Come Stopping Aliens in Torchwood: The New World on Starz in the US and BBC One in the UK.
