As River Would Say, SPOILERS!

If you’ve been frozen in carbonite for the past month, you may not realise that the Doctor Who film crew took a trip to America last week, where Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, and Arthur Darvill spent a few days shooting scenes in Utah for the two-part season opener in the spring.

Digital Spy has acquired some snaps of the filming session, which included…

…men in black with guns (haven’t we already seen this in Sarah Jane?) and a Jeep in the desert, Amy running away from something with mysterious black marks all over her arms, the Doctor in a cowboy hat (fezzes are SO 2010) as he and Amy prepare to board a school bus full of what appear to be tourists, and an image of a red helicopter, suggesting that we’re either going to get some brilliant hi-def aerial shots, or there will be a helicopter chase scene (we’re hoping for both).

DS also published a spoiler-free image of Rory Williams actor Arthur Darvill sitting in a chair being interviewed by BBC America.

All in all, it looks like we’re going to be getting another fantastic opening episode like The Eleventh Hour, only this time in two parts!  Expect to see the finished products on BBC One this Spring!

Patrick Riley

About

Patrick has just been murdered and is currently seated on the edge of a lawn chair wondering when this Missy person will stop demanding his autograph. He probably can't tweet from the grave, but you should follow him anyway @10PatrickRiley.
