The Lost Doctor in The Lost Stories

He’s baaaaaack!  It seems Paterson Joseph just can’t keep away from the Whoniverse!  We don’t blame him, of course.  Big Finish has recently revealed that the Almost-Eleventh-Doctor will make a guest appearance alongside Sylvester McCoy’s Seventh Doctor and Sophie Aldred’s Ace in Earth Aid, as a bloke named Victor Espinoza!

This final story in the second season of Big Finish’s Doctor Who: The Lost Stories sees a disguised Doctor-and-Ace infiltrating an Earthlien spaceship.  It’s written by Seventh-Doctor-vets Andrew Cartmel and Ben Aaronovitch.

If you’re extra-new to Who (if you came in during the Tennant or Smith era, for example), you may not remember that PatJoe’s been in Doctor Who before!  Ninth Doctor Christopher Eccleston’s regeneration story, Bad Wolf/The Parting of the Ways put Joseph up against Rose during an extra-futuristic-and-a-bit-deadly game of The Weakest Link.

Paterson clearly seems to love having connections with Who, with the Eccleston-era appearance, his near-victory with the role of Doc11, and now Earth Aid.  The only question remaining is, should the opportunity arise, will Paterson Joseph run for Twelfth Doctor?  Who auditions are always more fun to follow than political campaigns.

After more than 20 years on the shelf, the alternate 27th season of Doctor Who finally premieres to our ears in April 2011, courtesy of The Lost Stories from Big Finish!
