Revenge of the Old Daleks

The Brilliant Book of Doctor WhoJust when you thought every last nugget of new information had been sieved from the gold pan of Doctor Who: The Brilliant Book; there, at the bottom lies another exciting Moffat tease.

Don’t count them out just yet because it seems the old Daleks could be returning to our screens.

Head honcho Steven Moffat has revelled that we haven’t seen the last of the old Daleks, which were seemingly destroyed by the ‘new paradigm’ Fiat Daleks during Victory of the Daleks.

He said:

The fact is, we’re not going to lose the old Daleks. We’re keeping them. They’re coming back. We’ll just use them all at once, and have different ranks.

All I’ve done is give the Daleks an officer class.

This resent revealation sheds light on an earlier Moffat comment who said when they return “There will be lots of different kinds.”

So what does this mean? Are we on the verge of a Dalek Civil War? Will we finally see the rainbow Daleks get there shiny new coats dirty? Is Moffat backpedaling over the negative reception the redesign had? Are they saving money by reusing the old ones? And just how many last of the last of the last of their kind are there anyway (weren’t the disintegrated ones the absolute, no more, sorry we’re out of stock, Daleks)?

Comments below people.

About the Author

Everyone has a favourite Doctor and mine - just for his honesty, his fairness and his ability to not notice the Master's awful, awful disguises/anagrams (Sir Gilles Estram!?!) - has to be the Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison. The stories didn’t serve him as well as his acting served those stories.

Oh god does that mean we’re gonna be subjected yet another Dalek episode next year?
