Mona Lisa Smiles

By now you may or may not have watched the new BBC drama Single Father, starring David Tennant and Suranne Jones. You may have disliked it or you may have loved it to bits. It’s all a matter of opinion.

And one of those opinions comes from Suranne Jones herself who was thrilled with David Tennant whilst working with him. David plays a widowed father of four and Suranne plays said widow’s best friend. The two spend time together and start falling in love, ‘nuff said.

But the bonding didn’t just take place on screen, as Suranne explained after they took their on screen children ten pin bowling in real life (something that Kasterborous.com reported a few weeks back). It seems that David is liked by all, as the children chose him over her when she asked who they preferred:

“Basically all the kids went to David, I was gutted,”

But Suranne wasn’t bitter as she’d had such a lovely time with Tennant:

“Everyone had told me that he was the nicest man in the world. And he was. Mine and David’s friendship grew as our characters’ relationship grew.”

Awwwww, isn’t that nice?

Suranne guest starred as the Mona Lisa in The Sarah Jane Adventures and also has an upcoming role in the 2011 series of Doctor Who as Idris, an old friend of the Doctor’s.

Wonder if she knows River Song…?

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
