Fill Yer Stockings!

And so, before you even knew it, a new month has come around and with it under three months until Christmas!

Doctor Who Roman Auton figureAnyone thinking “stocking fillers”? Because Forbidden Planet certainly are as they’ve released a new range of pre orders for Doctor Who figures from Series 5.

Prisoner Zero is available to own in its true snake like form from the end of The Eleventh Hour (and there’s even a suction cup for you to attach it to something!). Next is one of the creepy Smilers from The Beast Below, all frowns and menace.

What collection would be complete without a Dalek? This one has one of the “Dalek Progenitor Guard” from Victory of the Daleks. You know the one (it’s basically a Time War Dalek that’s not dressed up in World War 2 camouflage or as it comes to be known, “an impure Dalek”). Also in the range is Francesco the Vampire mummy’s boy from Vampires of Venice and finally one of the Roman Auton duplicates from The Pandorica Opens.

Each of these fine offerings stand at five inches tall and are intricately detailed. You can pre order them now from at £7.98 each, saving you a pound and a penny on each one from the RRP.

They’re due for release on 1st November 2010, get ‘em while they’re hot!

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!

Meredith just want to point out that its not Forbidden Planet releasing these, but Character Options & these are not exclusives and should be available from the likes of Toys R Us, Argos etc. from 1st November.

Yesterday Forbidden Planet got stock of their exclusive Tom Baker figure in burgundy outfit with K-9. an excellent figure, new likeness, just a shame K-9 is the same as a previous release. (Got mine in their Manchester branch).
Attack of the Cybermen set due out any day, features 6th Doctor with Stealth (Black) Cyberman.

The ‘Roman Auton’ is a strange one. Unless I’m mistaken, it doesn’t include any Auton features, unless you can flip the wrist back to reveal the Auton gun; in which case, isn’t it really just a ‘Roman’?

For anyone who isn’t a very obsessive collector, or for anyone who likes to ‘role play’ their figures, you could just pretend that your Roman figure from the Pyrovile/Roman set is a Roman Auton.
