Doctor Who: Besieged

For those of you who enjoyed the Doctor Who/Star Wars crossover fan film Alternate Empire mentioned by Brian Terranova last month, this one’s for you:  A Doctor Who/Alien short!

Besieged is a twelve-minute cutout of what will eventually be a 60-minute complete fan episode of Tennant-esque Doctor Who.  Featuring a Doctor dressed much in the manner of the Tenth portrayed by the film’s writer Ryan Hendrick alongside new companion Lydia (Jennifer Byrne), this short captures not only the essence of the Alien/Aliens films, but also the isolated space mission atmosphere found in The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit, 42, and The Waters of Mars.

For Whovians, it’s worth a watch, especially for the club that still misses the Davies era.  But even if you don’t like Doctor Who (and leave this site now if that’s the case), it’s a great story to follow, with top-notch lighting, wonderful camera work, and a cliffhanger that will send you straight to the official website looking for updates on when the final version will be completed.  You can also follow the team behind the project on Facebook.  And remember,

In Space only the Doctor can hear you scream.
