The David Tennant’s mug can be seen not only on this weeks Radio Times where he chats about life after Who, his new drama Single Father and his verdict on his replacement Matt Smith, but also in a huge gallery of Radio Times covers upon which he’s featured.
His interview is a fascinating read; Tenannt talks about his feelings on leaving the part behind:
“It felt right to pass the baton on and for it to continue to thrive.”
On viewing his last episode:
“I was at home in London on New Year’s Day when I watched my last episode. It felt emotional, a weird mixture of emotions, but above all I was proud to be going out with a bang.”
And just what he thinks about Matt Smith:
“I’ve loved every second. It’s a thrill to be watching as a viewer again. I knew Matt was going to be fantastic and he is. He’s a great choice and he’s knocked it out of the park.”
Starring alongside Surrane Jones (whose as well as appearing as Mona Lisa in The Sarah Jane Adventures will soon be playing Iris alongside Matt Smith in Neil Gaiman’s Doctor Who episode), Single Father follows the life of Dave whose wife and mother of his children dies unexpectedly- leaving him to raise them on his own. Tossed into this difficult situation is his wife’s best friend whom he begins to use for more than just support.
