Who vs Sherlock

The National TV Awards nominations have been announced – and Steven Moffat is potentially in for a good night as both of his shows go head to head!

It’s not as if he hasn’t had a bumber year already, what with overseeing a successful relaunch of Doctor Who with the Eleventh Doctor and the critically- and audience-acclaimed 3 episode series of Sherlock, a successful reimagining of the classic fictional 19th century detective.

Doctor Who and Sherlock are both nominated in the Drama category, where they are up against shows such as Wallander, Ashes to Ashes, Foyle’s War and Midsomer Murders.

Meanwhile the stars of Doctor Who and Sherlock – Matt Smith and Benedict Cumberbatch, respecively – are both nominated in the Drama Performance category for their lead roles in both shows.
