Doctor Who Guest Helps Heroes

BBC America’s official website has written a small article about the Help the Heroes concert which took place at Twickenham stadium on Sunday 12th September.

The concert was a charity fundraiser aimed to help out Britain’s soldiers that have been wounded whilst in action. Among the many famous faces included Sir Tom Jones, Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow, Pixie Lott, Alexandra Burke, Plan B and James Blunt. It also featured comic turns from Jack Dee and Michael McIntyre. For Doctor Who fans there was a tiny connection as the proceedings also featured Katherine Jenkins who will be guest starring in this year’s Doctor Who Christmas special.

The singer covered the song Bring me to Life by Evanescence and was joined on stage by dance group Spelbound, winners of ITV’s The X Factor.

Katherine’s role in this year’s special is being kept under wraps. It could be anything from a minor cameo (think Episode 12 from the first four seasons of NuWho) to a full blown Kylie Minogue style appearance.

We’ll just have to wait until 25th December to find out…

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
