Colin Baker and His Kangazang! Gang

Sixth Doctor Colin Baker and former Torchwood guest actress and Sherlock star Claire Cage have provided voice talent for a new audioplay based on the Terry Cooper novel Kangazang! and SFX is giving away three copies!

Kangazang! is the story of the quest for the mythical Universal Remote Control, a task undertaken by Jeff Spooner and his barber-from-another-world, Ray Scump.  Our own Mez Burdett has likened the plot to The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and this description from SFX seems to back him up:

Aided by two badly programmed robots and an army of warrior Space Hoppers, the pair dive and try to dodge the biggest threats in the galaxy: Supreme Overlord Kelvin (emperor of Skragg), the terminally depressed Emo people and Queen Shelley (a bald, cannibalistic Amazon who has a score to settle from way back)…

…Not to mention they’re doing all this with a spaceship made out of human hair.  Kangazang! comes with three discs plus a DVD that sees Colin Baker talk Doctor Who, sci-fi, and Kangazang! with probable enthusiasm.  You’ll win a copy of Kangazang! if your name is drawn from a pile of people who have correctly answered this question:

Name the first story to feature Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor.

  • The Caves of Androzani
  • Time and the Rani
  • The Twin Dilemma

It’s a bit harder to answer this than SFX’s Kangazang! competition makes it out to be, because we really don’t know how they define “feature.”  But we’ll give you a useless hint – the middle one is out.

You can answer the question for your chance to win Kangazang! by clicking here.  Alternatively, learn more about Kangzagang! or listen to the trailer.  Meanwhile, I’ll be sitting at my computer, counting the number of times I’ve improperly used an exclamation mark in this article because the title of Kangazang! calls for it.  Kangazang!… it’s rather fun to say! (That’s your monthly allocation used up! – Ed)
