Who Bet?

And the bets are off! Betnose.com have reported a cut in the bet amount in relation to Matt Smith being replaced as the Doctor after reported disappointing viewing figures for his series of Doctor Who. Betting office William Hill now have (The Next Doctor actor) David Morrissey as their favourite with (The Lodger guest star) James Corden following closely behind.

The website quoted:

“The viewing figures were disappointing but Doctor Who was up against the World Cup and Sunny skies, so we think Matt will survive the disappointment,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.

It also added that the betting cost of Matt Smith playing the Doctor in the 2011 series of Doctor Who had been reduced, meaning that they think he will be replaced, before going on to list betting rates on other possible actors to replace him in the role.

The fact that Matt is preparing to film his new scenes for the next years worth of Doctor Who goodness should tip them off a little but apparently doesn’t. And if David Morrissey is the favourite, then the betting shops are obviously looking to drain some cheap cash out of their punters…

What happens when an eight year old kid watches the 1993 repeat run of Planet of the Daleks? He pretty much ends up here writing about the show that grabbed hold of him and never let go!
