Terror of the Autons Audiobook

Doctor Who - Terror of the AutonsTerror of the Autons is set for an audiobook release – read by one-time Master actor Geoffrey Beevers (The Keeper of Traken), it tells the much-loved Doctor Who story of an attempted Auton takeover…

The evil Master leered at the Doctor, and triumphantly pointed out of the cabin window. The many-tentacled Nestene monster – spearhead of the second Auton invasion of Earth – crouched beside the radio tower!

Part crab, part spider, part octopus, its single huge eye blazed with alien intelligence and deadly hatred…

Can the Doctor outwit his rival Time Lord, the Master, and save the Earth from the Nestene horror?

Originally featuring Jon Pertwee as the Doctor, Katy Manning as Jo Grant and Nicholas Courtney as Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, Terror of the Autons kicked off season 8 in 1971 and was also the first story to feature Roger Delgado as the Master…

‘BBC Audiobooks has chosen well with its books and has taken the right approach with its readers… they benefit from new music and sound effects’

- Doctor Who Magazine

Available 08 July 2010, the Terror of the Autons audiobook has an RRP of £12.99 and is ISBN: 9781408466759 – however you can preorder from Amazon for just £7.79!

Erm, might be wrong on this, but wasn’t Geoffrey Beevers The Master in Keeper of Traken? I thought it was Peter Pratt in The Deadly Assassin? I’m open to correction on this of course.

  2. Gah! You’re right of course! Altered the article for posterity :)

I assume this is based on the Target novel, being an audio book (duh)?

Great favourite of mine as a kid, but the copy I had this amazing picture of the Nestene on the cover, not the version they have used which I assume in the first print version or something new?

    Classic adventure.
