Doctor Who DVD Series 5 Volume 4The remainder of Series 5/Season 31 of Doctor Who is due out in September, with the Doctor’s amazing adventures available on DVD and Blu-ray. This latest release includes the final four episodes of the 2010 run of Doctor Who  – Vincent and the Doctor, The Lodger, The Pandorica Opens and The Big Bang – starring Matt Smith and Karen Gillan as the Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond.

Vincent and the Doctor sees our intrepid duo learning more about the art of terror in this new adventure where they meet the legendary painter Vincent Van Gogh! The TARDIS travels back in time but terror lurks in the cornfields of Provence and only a sad and lonely painter can see it… The Doctor and Amy join forces with Van Gogh but can the three of them defeat a powerful and deadly alien?

There’s a house on Aickman road, and a staircase that people go up, but never down in the episode The Lodger. To solve the mystery of the man upstairs, the Doctor must face his greatest challenge – he must pass himself off as a perfectly normal human being, and share a flat with Craig Owens.

In The Pandorica Opens, the Doctor and Amy learn that according to legend, the Pandorica contains the most feared being in all the cosmos, a monster soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. But what’s inside, and can even the Doctor stop it?

Doctor Who Series 5 Volume 4 also features a behind the scenes look at the monsters from the collection in a Monster File extra entitled “The Alliance”. Broken up roughly into three main parts this specially commissioned extra features a whole collection of monsters from the episode including Daleks, Cybermen, Autons, Sontarans, Judoon, Hoix, Silurians, Sycorax, Roboforms, Uvodni, Weevils, and a Blowfish as well as Amy’s confrontation with the headless cyberman and Rory the Auton.
