So – the mysteries are about to be answered! The cracks, the TARDIS debris, hopefully even the “continuity errors” – Doctor Who returns next week for the first part of a memorable finale, The Pandorica Opens!
Starring at least Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Alex Kingston as the Doctor, Amy and River Song, you’ll be able to see a few more interesting faces in the trailer below…
Doctor Who is scheduled in the 6.40-7.30pm timeslot on BBC One and BBC HD on Saturday, 19th June.

I think I’ve finally worked it out now the trailer has surfaced. Every time Amy and The Doctor have been somewhere a crack has appeared, but the cracks originated in Amy house; the wall above where she sleeps. Both Prisoner Zero and the Weeping Angels didn’t so much go after The Doctor as they went after her, specifically. And that’s the answer to the question.
Now suppose for a moment that her parents met The Trickster and made a bargain with him for their lives in exchange for their daughter, but by doing so they would be erased from time: because they never existed, she couldn’t be born in the first place.
The crack isn’t following Amy across the universe – time is following her… because SHE is the crack. She is the force that exists but shouldn’t, and her existence is what’s ripping time apart.
I’ll be disappointed if the companion is once again, the “most important person in the universe”. That being said, I’m sure the adventure will be great as it’s Moffat back for the wrap up.
Next year, I’d like a season *without* a theme. Just once. Just give me adventures.
