Assuming the episode is still called The Lodger by the time we get to Saturday (apparently “Don’t Go Up The Stairs” has also been a title), here’s a preview of the next episode of Doctor Who.
Starring Matt Smith as the Doctor and Karen Gillan as Amy Pond, The Lodger also stars James Corden (Gavin & Stacey, as if you needed telling), and is the episode from which images of Matt Smith and Corden photographed playing football originate – right on time to coincide with the World Cup!
There’s a house on Aickman road, and a staircase that people go up, but never down, as the time-travelling drama continues.
To solve the mystery of the man upstairs, the Doctor faces his greatest challenge yet – he must pass himself off as a perfectly normal human being, and share a flat with Craig Owens.
The Lodger originated in an edition of Doctor Who Magazine in 2006; in that version, the Tenth Doctor stayed with Mickey for a week while the TARDIS drifted with Rose on board. Both versions are by Gareth Roberts (The Unicorn and the Wasp).
Catch Doctor Who on BBC One or the simulcast on the BBC HD channel (Freesat 108, Freeview 50, Sky 143 and Virgin 108) on Saturday, 12th June at 6.45pm
