Smith wants McKellen
This isn’t ramblings of a fan fiction writer hyped on no sleep and Sunny D but the idea of the Doctor himself Matt Smith.
The Time Lord has told Digital Spy that he would love Sir Ian McKellen play a villain in the next series of Doctor Who.
Asked which actors he would most like to see in Who, Smith commented that he would love The Lord of the Rings and X-Men actor:
“Actors? There are just so many! It’s like when people ask you your favourite album. You go, ‘I love music so much I’ve got 20!’. Maybe Ian McKellen would be quite interesting to come and do one. He could be a cool baddie, couldn’t he?”
Matt Smith also had a few ideas about who The Grand Moff should approach to write an episode of Doctor Who next season:
“I’d really like a writer called Simon Stevens [playwright of Pornography, a play about 7/7 bombings which introduced a new definition of "pornography" in our culture] to write an episode, and Joe Penal [sic] [Joe Penhall, the writer of Moses Jones] I think he’s pretty brilliant – I’d love him to do one.”
Smith also said he would be willing to appear in a multi-Doctor episode, as long as Moffat could come up with a ‘brilliant’ idea for it.
So which Who villain would you like to see McKellen tackle? The Master? The Valeyard? The Black Guardian (the last actor to play the role Valentine Dyall, bears a slight resemblance to Mckellen)?
