Doctor Who fans with a keen eye could not have failed to notice the increasing press coverage of Matt Smith’s relationship with model Daisy Lowe over the past few weeks.

Digital Spy asked the Eleventh Doctor actor recently if he would consider quitting the show if this paparazzi and press attention came too much – and gave a typically level-headed response

“I think they’re two completely separate things.

“I’m only focused on going back and shooting the Christmas episode and doing that to the best of my ability. That’s where my energy lies, and my intention and focus.”

There has yet to be any confirmation from Smith on whether or not he and Lowe are involved – and that’s what is really at the bottom of these questions. A mature refusal to mix his social life with his professional image that really gets on the nerves of the “next big story” mentality of the tabloid press.
