Unless you’ve been out of the country for the last few days, you should be aware that a new 10-part series of Torchwood has been commissioned, with Russell T Davies leading a team of writers.
Davies – who created the show in 2006 and has been developing a new series for several months - has been popping up on TV over the past few days to discuss this great news which will hopefully see the series (a co-production between BBC Wales, BBC Worldwide and Starz Entertainment) build on the success of the superb Children of Earth.
Russell T Davies spoke earlier this week to BBC News about the new series, the return of Captain Jack Harkness and Gwen Cooper (John Barrowman and Eve Myles) as well as the show’s new globetrotting remit.

Very interesting. Kudos to RTD for the wonderful praise of current Who and I’m wondering whether T4 will actually be broadcast only on Starz over here as that’s a cable subscription service like HBO and Showtime. Also, I hadn’t realize that every season of Torchwood has been on a different station and continues to do so….
How lovely to see Russell! I miss him. He’s looking well, isn’t he? Great news that we’re getting a new series of Torchwood, and that it will continue to be made in Wales. May Fox have its nose well and truly bloodied, they can mourn their loss when Torchwood is sailing along with massive audience ratings. Hurrah for Russell, Capt Jack and Gwen!
Yes, the California sun no doubt suits him!
Love the girl on the news channel, she is absolutely inept! “John Barrow Man”!?!
it’s like her cuteness is inversely proportional to her talent…
