Britain, Britain, Britain!

Iconic Time Lord Tom Baker has been a busy boy these past few months. The writer, actor and voice over artist has been lending his distinct vocals to a new ad campaign for Nationwide.

Tom Baker is the greatest star of Doctor Who. Ever. FACTThe former Doctor will reprise his role as the narrator of Little Britain in a series of ads that see the return of popular characters Andy and Lou, Vicky Pollard and Emily and Florence.

One of the ads, airing May 24th was designed to showcase Nationwide’s sponsorship of the England football team will feature Lou, the long suffering career of supposedly wheelchair bound Andy, talking to Fabio Capello as unbeknownst to him Andy takes on Theo Walcott (ha!), Jermaine Defoe and Peter Crouch before scoring past David James.

Tom was pleased to reprise his role once again;

“Big Britain has turned to Little Britain to inspire us to Glory. The visuals of the three commercials are wonderfully funny. I should know because the BOYS wrote my script.”

For exclusive behind the scenes footage of the ads head over to Nationwide-members.co.uk.

About the Author

Everyone has a favourite Doctor and mine - just for his honesty, his fairness and his ability to not notice the Master's awful, awful disguises/anagrams (Sir Gilles Estram!?!) - has to be the Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison. The stories didn’t serve him as well as his acting served those stories.

    Big Finish has recently stated that Tom will be in a whole series of BF audio dramas as the Fourth Doctor in 2011. That’s pretty exciting.

    Big Finish have in fact done no more than confirm that they are in talks – exciting enough, but lets not jump the gun :)
