Ultimate Guide?

Is this the ultimate beginners guide to Doctor Who? Available via TheVine.com.au and written by Paul Verhoeven, what must be the best guide for newcomers to the series has recently been published.

The Time Lords - minor war crimesFeaturing briefs on the first ten Doctors, explanations of the TARDIS, regeneration, mortal enemies and the Time Lord’s penchant for young travelling companions, the guide also features a hilarious plan so that anyone can become an authority on the 47 year old series.

In fact, it’s a good laugh all the way through, while never taking the mickey out of the series – on the matter of the Time Lords, Paul writes:

Their culture discovered time travel, and proceeded to evolve into an austere, arrogant, opulent and dazzlingly gaudy society; imagine ancient Rome combined with Art Deco, combined with a metric shitload of paper mache. So… not a very subtle aesthetic.

They also eventually turned into absolute megalomaniacs and committed some minor war crimes.

Grab a load of the full article, it’s a great read – what else are you doing tonight?

(With thanks to Paul)
