McIntosh on Tennant

David Tennant is to return BBC1 in four part drama Single Father – his first starring role on TV since he vacated the TARDIS.

Doctor Who Silurian - Neve McIntoshReelScotland recently sat down with Single Father co-star and Silurian in tonight’s The Hungry Earth, Neve McIntosh, who revealed a few tiny morsels on working with not one but two Time Lords.

“He [David Tennant] loses his partner and ends up with all the kids and just has to deal with life afterwards. I play the nosey, interfering sister-in-law – that’s the best way that I can put it!”

Written by Mick Ford, and set in Glasgow, the series tells the story of Dave, played by Tennant, who also begins to fall in love with his wife’s best friend Sarah, played by Suranne Jones.

No air date has been announced yet but head over to ReelScotland for a lengthy chat about Matt Smith, Silurians and female villains in New Who.

Catch Neve McIntosh as twin Silurians in The Hungry Earth tonight at 6.15 on BBC One and BBC HD.

Everyone has a favourite Doctor and mine - just for his honesty, his fairness and his ability to not notice the Master's awful, awful disguises/anagrams (Sir Gilles Estram!?!) - has to be the Fifth Doctor, Peter Davison. The stories didn’t serve him as well as his acting served those stories.
