SFX has reported on Matt Smith and Karen Gillan trying the offerings of contestants from BBC’s Junior Masterchef. The actors ate their specially prepared dishes while filming new scenes for what could either be The Sarah Jane Adventures or this year’s Doctor Who Christmas special (definitely no prize if you can tell us which one). Matt and Karen shared a menu of:

For Matt:

* Medium-rare fillet steak with potato wedges with Béarnaise sauce and a side salad
* Treacle sponge with custard

For Karen:

* Oriental crispy duck pancakes with a plum sauce
* Banoffi pie

Both enjoyed their meal, with Matt commenting:

“Really lovely meal… Hats off to it… If I was wearing a hat, I’d tip it.”
