Gillan’s Scottish Monster

Doctor Who star Karen Gillan has revealed that she wants to see the time travellers encounter the Loch Ness Monster, the bizarre legend of a giant sea creature living in one of Scotland’s largest lakes.

Doctor Who star Karen Gillan - she's Scottish, you know...According to the Daily Record, Karen Gillan is keen to see the monster in Doctor Who, apparently unaware that it has appeared at least twice before…

” I said to Steven that we should do something with the Loch Ness Monster in Inverness.”

The Loch Ness Monster was revealed in 1975 serial Terror of the Zygons to be a giant robot, controlled by the shapeshifting Zygons; however 1985′s Timelash revealed that the monster was in fact the Borad, a secretive, totalitarian ruler cast into the timelash, a time controller that happened to be pointing at Scotland.

In case you didn’t know, Karen Gillan is Scottish. She certainly doesn’t seem to mind mentioning it from time to time, just in case you forget…

“The Scots are taking over….I would love to see someone like Billy Connolly in the show.

“I just think we should have someone who’s a big character and who is really funny. Someone like that, who is Scottish.”

Could we not have some Irish, please? Or a Yorkshireman? Bit of variety and diversity, perhaps?

The heck with getting more Scots in there, bring back the Zygons! That’s an old monster/alien I want to bring back big time. The beautiful part is, you could literally not change a thing about their appearance. I’m a bit concerned that the new Silurians look a bit Star Trekkie but I’d love to see them bring the Zygons back. Can’t believe haven’t already!

I can’t understand why they haven’t brought the Zygons yet. If ever there was a monster that the kids will like, they are them. Apart from the Macra, they seem to be bringing back the the most popular iconic ones first. Please Mr Moffat, don’t leave the Zygons as one shot monsters.

    Irish, you say?

    Will Graham Norton do?

Jet simian – good call, but no, lol!

Someone had pointed out a while back that the old big villains were showing up in the same order as they showed up in the original series. Daleks, Cybermen, Macra, Master, Sontarans, Davros. Bizarre coincidence or an RTD subtle master plan?

—and a shame since the Zygons would have been the next in the queue! Well, the one exception *was* the Autons so maybe it was a coincidence……
