The MediaGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival has started gearing up for its ninth annual Channel of the Year awards and to get the ball rolling, they’ve announced the nominees – and Doctor Who is included.
BBC One is up for terrestrial channel of the year whilst BBC Three is in the non terrestrial category. Doctor Who itself is up against the following:

The X Factor (ITV1)
Harry Hill’s TV Burp (ITV1)
Outnumbered (BBC1)
FlashForward (Five)
The awards ceremony takes place on Saturday28th August, hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall, with a live vote on the night – find out more at the Guardian website.
