No Doctor Who:USA!

The BBC have finally revealed that there are no plans for an American version of Doctor Who!

Previously rumoured following former Doctor Who Executive Producers Russell T Davies, Julie Gardner and BBC One controller Jane Tranter’s moves to the USA, the idea had been a huge bone of contention for many fans on both sides of the Atlantic.

Following news that Torchwood won’t be picked up for further development by FOX, Jane Tranter also moved to dispel rumours of an American Doctor Who from further proliferation.

“It may well be confusing to have a British Doctor and an American Doctor at the same time,” she said. “There is only one Doctor, so I don’t see that happening.”

After all, Doctor Who has finally found its home in the USA on BBC America. Developing a whole new version for the American market would more than likely be commercial suicide, with consequences extending far beyond the new world…
