Steven Moffat has expressed how happy he is that viewers have accepted the new star of Doctor Who much sooner than he anticipated.
Matt Smith took over from David Tennant – arguably the most popular Doctor ever – but seems to have won over viewers and fans alike in a relatively short space of time.
“I thought it’d take about four or five weeks to get to where we got after the first broadcast, but people just seem to have fallen in love with him instantly.”
The Grand Moff also had plenty to say on the subject of scary episodes, noting that the first t hree are only “moderately scary” but The Time of Angels changes things somewhat.
“Episode four has the weeping angels and Alex Kingston returning,” Moffat said. “I think it’s one of the scariest ones we’ve ever done – my little boy says it’s the scariest thing he’s ever seen in Doctor Who.”
We’ll have an exclusive preview of The Time of Angels later today!
