Where Are You Watching Doctor Who?

Doctor Who at The Lass O'Gowrie! If you’re not one of the lucky ones set to watch The Eleventh Hour either courtesy of the BBC Outreach or at one of the other outdoor events this week, you might be wondering just how to celebrate the return of Doctor Who.

While my preferred method would be in total isolation with a huge HD TV and Dolby 7.1 surround, I’m more than likely going to have a bit of a Doctor Who party – but if I wasn’t, my first thought would be to travel to The Lass O’Gowrie in Manchester to herald the first adventure of the Eleventh Doctor, Matt Smith, his new companion Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) and the start of the Steven Moffat era!

The Lass O’Gowrie is of course the domain of Gareth Kavanagh, one of the driving forces behind the Vworp Vworp fanzines (www.vworpvworp.co.uk) and an occasional contributor here at Kasterborous.

Live on the pub’s big screen next Saturday, 3rd April, The Eleventh Hour will be beamed to Doctor Who fans in the comfort of a pretty cool, traditional pub – and food will be available!

Although the screening is free to attend, note that there is a “first come, first served” policy, and under 16’s but must be accompanied by an adult. With Doctor Who Confidential set to screen straight after, if you plan to stop all night there’s also the chance to enjoy the Magners Award nominated comedy night – Jokein at 8:30pm straight after, so it’s a whole evening to enjoy!
