Comedian and actress Catherine Tate has found herself in the press recently, after it emerged that the former Doctor Who co-star was the target of poison pen letters.
Apparently Tate – who appeared as Donna Noble in the episodes The Runaway Bride, Partners in Crime through to Journey’s End and The End of Time Part One and Part Two - was subjected to hate mail which was later passed to the police by her husband, Twig Clark.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “We can confirm that police received a complaint from a 35-year-old man on Sunday, 17 January, regarding malicious communications.
“Detectives from Richmond-upon-Thames are investigating.”
Anyone taking the time to find the address of a celebrity and then writing to them in such a manner should be treated with pity – let’s hope that Catherine has been able to put this behind her and that the offending individual is found and looked after accordingly.
